Last night’s Uber session went better than expected, with a very nice tip from a lovely person! Those are always deeply appreciated. However, when I came home I found that things did not align so well, and my automatic bill payments left my bank account negative. Oops.
I spent some of the morning tidying up my flat before work. It’s starting to look really nice again. I haven’t had time with everything going on lately, so it felt nice to use some of the time I was waiting for the computer to update to make my flat clean again.
We had an “orientation” for the union, and it was fascinating. There are even more benefits than I first realised. It also provided a genuine end date: we have guaranteed raises (called “step increases”) every six months, and the one in July 2027 will put my income at a point where I will likely no longer need to drive for Uber on weeknights! I will still need to on weekends, but that will be a huge amount of time back for me to do what I want to do with my life.
All in all, it’s been quite a weird week, full of highs and lows. Hopefully the weekend comes with better tidings.
