Well, I watched the FIFA match with England vs. Argentina this afternoon, on a sort of “extended lunch break”. There were actually a lot of us at the University that did this; we had a whole Slack channel full of people noting we’d be here an hour later than usual if anyone needed us, to make up for the breaks we all took!
Obviously I am quite disappointed with the result. But we (England) really played our hearts out. We did much better than we have done in the past few international tournaments (with the possible exception of Euro 2024), and I have hope that we will continue to improve.
I also have hope that Lionel Messi will retire soon, and maybe Argentina will lose some of their advantage then! Hahaha.
