It was a lovely feeling last night to be able to pay not just rent but my other bills yesterday. My Berkeley pay and AI gig pay came in at the same time. No more disconnection threats! No more warnings when I open Word! I can write again!
Yeah, I should probably be ashamed of myself, using Microsoft 365 to write my novels when I spent 25 years in open source and most of those years arguing against software subscription licensing. I guess what they say is true, you always become what you most despise.
Meanwhile, I’ve finally decided on the breed of dog for a character in Arc 33. He’s going to be a Wetterhoun! They’re so cute, lovable, fluffy – and best of all, they’re spotted too! Just the spots are a lot bigger than Dalmatian spots, haha.
