Tuesday saw me complete a full day of work despite having to use my lunch hour to take my grandmother to the emergency dentist. Her dental emergency has been handled adequately and she is fine now.
I was able to solve an accessibility issue in ArchivesSpace and, better than that, found all instances of the issue in their codebase and fixed them all. All in all, that’s nine pages fixed up. It felt really good to look beyond just the report and find more to fix.
Had to run to the chemist to pick up the pain killers for my grandmother. After returning them to her, I actually spent half an hour working on Arc 14! It’s at least earlier than what I’ve been working on. It’s such a cute story, too!
Then Zach, project lead of Adélie, called. We had a great discussion on some of the future directions of the project and I am more confident than ever that we have a good way forward. Now it’s just a matter of implementation. Hopefully the weekend leaves me time for it!
Mum and I talked more about my plans to move to Europe. It means so much to me to have her support. There’s a lot of squishy family stuff involved and knowing that she has my back makes me feel very fortunate and blessed.
And finally, my sweetheart continues to find ways to make me feel loved that I did not know existed. Seriously, dear reader – he knows just how to make me smile even when I’m feeling a little down. He is the ray of sunshine in my life that I didn’t even know I was missing, having lived in the clouds so long. And now all I feel is warmth and light…
In summary, work, writing, Adélie, and personal life all moving in the right direction!
