I actually did some work on Arc 1 last night before bed! Unfortunately, it wasn’t writing. But it was related. I sketched out a very rough idea of what I’d like the cover page to look like!
It’s Renee with a somewhat surprised, somewhat excited expression. Behind her is the state maps of California – where she is leaving – and Oklahoma – where she is doing. Above the states are the animals that live there: Vanessa, the cat, who is not coming with her to Oklahoma, and Dave, the Dalmatian, who is coming with her to Oklahoma. Below the states are road signs from each one: California’s is the entrance sign to “Barkeley”, the university she has graduated from, and Oklahoma’s is a sign welcoming you to the fictional town of “Lac Germaine”.
It also features the worst possible sketch I’ve ever done of a car, but I had been awake for 20 some odd hours and my perspective suffered!
