Finished!

I have some incredibly exciting news to share. Arc 20 of my graphic novel series has entered final draft stage! It’s been such a long road – the first scene draft I wrote was on 16th February. At this time, it has 9 chapters, with an average of three scenes per chapter. 113 pages, 16462 words. I’m ecstatic that this story is entering the final stages. We didn’t hit 17000 words like I thought we might, but hey, I think it is great the way it is.

Of course, I can’t really publish it until the others before it are finished. But this one has been my longest work to date, and it has been circulating in my head so much. Having it finished will make writing the others easier.

And just to be extra, my brain decided it wasn’t quite finished with this story and I finished writing the alternate ending that it could have had. I’m still more happy with the ending I gave it, but having this other one written feels good. There’s some world-building I did in the alternate ending that I think I will use later.

“This is when I would normally say: take good care of them. But I don’t have to. I already know you will. You’ve always been a wonderful sister. And just so you know? You were always my very best friend, too.”
