Quick notes for Thursday

One of my dear friends has composed faer own siddur, which is a Jewish prayer book. As a Christian, they’re obviously not entirely applicable to me, but there is a lot of… shall we say “overlap” between the two religions. One part of the morning blessings really stuck out to me. It was that we, as His children, share in the act of Creation. What we create becomes part of greater Creation. This is something that I figured out when I was a younger pup, but hadn’t really thought about for quite a while. It really drives home the importance of doing good works while we’re here.

Speaking of good works, on the techie side: I was finally able to sit down and test the patch for Qt Declarative and it does fix that bug from last week. This has unblocked a lot of the Adélie Linux project! Very happy to see that, and to be able to still participate in some small way.

Our watch group watched The Land Before Time. That was one of my favourite films as a pup and watching it again now, I definitely had great taste, haha! There are elements of storytelling there that I find I’ve used without even consciously realising. Now I want to rewatch some of my other favourite films from that age to see if I can see more influences on how I approach world building!
