The Dance of the Accordion

I have spent the past few days pouring over documentation and code to work out the best way to make the “accordion widgets” used in ArchivesSpace accessible. And I believe I have finally done it! Assuming it passes this coming internal code review, I’ll be sending a much bigger merge request to ArchivesSpace that fixes all of them. There are many more than I realised, and many more than was initially flagged by our audit. That’s mostly because some only show up when data is present, and we are testing against the “test” instance.

Beyond that, Melody was being quite unruly today. She kept interrupting me at work, but when I went to play with her, she’d look out the door and run to get my mum. If you want my mum to play with you, meow at her, not me! This happened three times before I finally gave up and closed the door on her. I felt bad, but I needed to finish this accordion work for the Library.

I used my lunch half-hour to get a little Minecraft time in with my sweetie. It was fun, if short. I could have gone for hours, but I know if I keep my responsibilities in focus the fun time will come! And I’m still on the lookout for a good way to share screenshots. I’m really proud of what we’re building and it almost feels like its own form of an art project!
