I wrote a song this morning before work. I’ve only shared it with two very close friends, but both were very moved by it. I really should get set up to record again. This is one I would consider releasing to Bandcamp or something, I’m actually convinced it might be decent… that counts as creative writing, right? Though it’s not Spotted.
Also tidied the den before work. Still need to tidy the office, but it’ll keep until I get around to it. I think the last room after that is the dining room, and then I’ve tidied the entire flat again! If I keep doing this every so often, maybe it’ll finally stay tidy for good.
Meanwhile, the Ruby people finally noticed my Timeout fix and they aren’t convinced. I’m not sure how to convince them, but I’ll certainly try.
Spent half an hour debugging a Dockerfile issue that turned out to be me forgetting to put the ARG in the stage it was being used in. Some day I’ll get all my sleep in a single period, and I won’t make these silly mistakes. Still, the Docker runtime really didn’t make it obvious – there was no admonition that the variable was unset or missing, it just plain didn’t work. I wish Docker had something like JavaScript’s "use strict"; or Visual Basic’s Option Explicit.
Worked on some more meta-stuff for the accessibility project before it gets “officially” underway for me. I’m trying to clean up the build framework and test harnesses so we can have nice, clean, efficient runs when we’re testing.
And finally, I forgot to mention on Sunday evening when I was driving home from Uber, I had a flash of inspiration for the second act’s conflict in Arc 88. If only I could get my brain to focus on Arc 1 for a few days, I might even be able to start sharing my stories with the world!
