The oddest Mother’s Day present: Ruby on Rails

I’m back after the US Mother’s Day holiday. Had a lovely day with my Mum, conversing about every conceivable topic for hours and hours. And then she told me that she really wished her art site could do a specific thing.

So, after our get-together was over, I cracked open the Mac and got to work. And I was able to finish implementing both the features she had been talking about, including tests, before she went to bed!

Some Mums want flowers. Some want sweets. Still others want a spa day. But the most meaningful gift I could give mine this Mother’s Day – what she really wanted, and what made her beam with glee – was… Ruby on Rails.

My life is weird.
